YouTube’s Big Plans for 2025 Domination

YouTube CEO Neal Mohan shares “big bets” for 2025. Here are the highlights that creators need to know to grow their business and content creation:

  1. YouTube is the new television: TV has surpassed mobile as the primary device for YouTube viewing. This is the second year that YouTube dominates television over the streaming giants like Netflix and Disney+. YouTube will be enhancing features to improve the TV viewing experience, such as ‘watch with,’ where creators can share live commentary. As creators, think about how you can optimize your content and production set to be enjoyed on the big screen.
  2. YouTube will remain the epicenter of culture: from the Olympics to U.S. elections to the Super Bowl, some of the biggest events have played out on YouTube. YouTube has also become the most used platform for listening to podcasts in the U.S., beating out both Spotify and Apple Podcasts. So whether you’re thinking about creating music videos, live streaming, or podcasting, the YouTube platform should be your #1 place to get discovered.
  3. Youtubers are becoming the startups of Hollywood: creators are discovering more ways to grow their business on the platform. Channel memberships increased by over 40% last year, and shopping recommendations are becoming a major revenue driver as well. Over 50% of channels are earning over five figures outside of Adsense revenue. This shows what’s possible for growing a business and making a living as a content creator.
  4. YouTube is investing into AI to enhance content creation: video audio dubbing will be rolling out to YouTube Partner Program members soon. Over 40% of total watch time comes from viewers choosing to listen in a dubbed language. AI will also be used to enhance the learning experience on YouTube, and help creators produce courses.

With these bets, 2025 will likely see a massive influx of new creators and users to the platform. Are you ready to meet the demand?

The #1 Skill That Will Transform Your Content: Masterful Storytelling

Great content isn’t just about what you teach—it’s about how you tell the story.

The best creators don’t just deliver information; they create a transformation that keeps you hooked.

Here are three storytelling techniques used by the top 1% creators:

  1. Expectation Subversion – The easiest way to grab attention is to challenge what your audience believes to be true. Start with a statement that aligns with common knowledge—then flip it. This contrast creates curiosity and mental tension, forcing the brain to seek resolution.
  2. Define Your Ending First – Ever listened to someone ramble endlessly with no clear point? That’s what happens when you don’t structure your story around a peak moment. Before you start filming, identify the one key realization or emotion you want your audience to feel. Then work backward to build up to it. The best stories aren’t long—they’re focused.
  3. Story Rhythm – Storytelling is like music—it needs variation. If every sentence is the same length, your delivery feels robotic. Mix up your pacing: sometimes short and punchy, other times descriptive and immersive. This keeps engagement high and your audience hooked.

We share more storytelling techniques in our latest video where we break down in depth examples from the top creators on our platform.

Adobe Firefly: A ‘Commercially Safe’ AI Video Generator

Adobe just released its Firefly Video Model, calling it the “first commercially safe AI video generation tool.”

Firefly can generate 1080p video from text or images, complete with camera control and motion graphics. It can also translate and lip sync audio.

The model is trained on licensed Adobe Stock and public domain content, but claims that it will never be trained on user generated content.

Pricing tiers start at $9.99 per month.

Why it matters

The safe use of AI-generated content has been long debated by creators.

Adobe’s commitment to responsible AI development ensures that Firefly is trained exclusively on properly licensed content, providing creators with confidence in the commercial safety of their creations.
